Robinson Swimming Pool

Robinson Pool underwent an award winning refurbishment in 2005 and is now Bedfordshire’s premier swimming facility; home to Bedford’s largest pool, and is situated in the stunning grounds of Bedford Park.

We have three pools; the main, 6-lane competition pool, the diving pool and a beginners teaching pool. The facility offers something for everybody, from 3 month old babies to senior citizens, with an all-encompassing programme of activities designed to cater for the whole community.

You will also find a state of the art gym and a variety of fitness classes for all levels and ages.

Robinson Pool – Notification of Maintenance Closure

The existing main pool lighting installation at Robinson Pool is over 35 years old and requires modification in order to meet the current regulations. Funding has been secured for this scheme which will also incorporate significant energy saving measures. Access to the lighting system requires high tower scaffolding both in and around poolside, which unfortunately necessitates a pool closure throughout the period of works. The works are scheduled to commence on 3^rd November 2008 and will last for up to 8 weeks, with the pool reopening on 2^nd January 2009.

We appreciate that this proposed closure will cause you inconvenience to which we can only but apologise: however, this work is imperative in order to secure the ongoing operation of the pool.
